Words can evoke images, soothe a hurt, open a wound, inflame passion and douse fire. From the simple to the complicated, words tell the story of life.

Is there a digital divide?
There is a digital divide and will be until all students have equal access not only to the computer hardware and software, but also to trained and skilled instructors. There may be equal access to education in this country, but there isn't equal access to learning.
I was born and raised in Connecticut and am fortunate to have my family all living in the same town. I am the single mother of a teenage daughter. She is my heart, my soul, my greatest pride. My daughter, my family and my friends are the center of my life. They make me crazy and keep me sane, they give my life purpose and they support me, even in my latest adventure. After over 20 years as a magazine editor/freelance writer, I have decided to change careers and pursue teaching. I am working on my Masters in Education at Fairfield University and will be certified to teach English and History in secondary school, preferably high school. People think I'm crazy to want to teach teenagers, but I really enjoy that age group. They are so open to new ideas and not shy about sharing their thoughts. I believe I will learn as much if not more from them than they will from me. I also coach cheerleading at the local middle school. My daughter got me involved when she was on the squad. She graduated, I stayed. She is a junior coach with the squad which gives us something fun to do together that we both enjoy. So welcome to my first ever blog, I hope you enjoy it and I hope you post a comment!
